Personal protection
Recognise visible weapons, acts of violence, falls and other emergency situations early.
With AI video analytics for media sites, you can protect employees, guests, studios and technical infrastructure. Synaedge extends your existing cameras and connects events with your security, access and alerting processes.
Initial position and goal
Your media site connects public access with protected newsroom, studio and technical areas. AI video analytics recognises defined risks early and passes relevant events directly to your responsible teams and systems.
Recognise visible weapons, acts of violence, falls and other emergency situations early.
Monitor editorial offices, studios, archives, server rooms and other protected areas.
Capture unusual stays, individual crowds and movements on your media site.
Find relevant people, vehicles, objects and events faster after an incident.
Solution approach – Testable scenarios
You determine which visible situation should be identified, when it is relevant and which action follows. We combine your camera images with measurable quality criteria, individual event rules and the responsible operational bodies.
Let visibly worn firearms or other clearly defined weapons in entrances, reception areas, access points and on outdoor areas. A detected event can be entered directly to your security service or a connected control centre.
Detect visible violent movements and physical confrontations. The responsible team receives the event with its time, camera location and visual context for rapid review.
Detect movements associated with falls or people remaining on the ground for an unusually long time. This is especially useful in stairwells, car parks, technical areas and parts of buildings with little foot traffic.
Capture unusually high crowd densities in entrances, foyers, event areas and outdoor areas. Individual thresholds can draw your safety managers’ attention early to congested access or blocked traffic routes.
Identify people who stay in defined areas for longer than intended. Entrances, access rights, delivery zones and building facades can be monitored with different rules depending on the time of day and operating status.
Identify people or vehicles in defined areas that are accessed or used outside the routes or use times provided. Authorised events, deliveries and service hours take into account individual schedules.
Monitor people’s movements in editorial areas, studios, control rooms, archives, server rooms and other protected zones. Time slots, length of stay, direction of movement and existing access events can be included in the rating.
Connect the video analytics to your access control to detect possible tailgating. The system can inform you if, after a single access authorisation, several people pass a protected access.
Detect when security-related doors remain open or prevented from catching by bags, objects and other obstacles. After a defined duration, you can automatically trigger a message to the security service or the building management.
Spot newly discarded or unusually unattended bags, packages and other items in entrances, foyers and publicly accessible areas. An abandoned item is reported for examination and is not automatically classified as hazardous.
Let changes at defined storage, production or transfer points be identified. For example, video analytics can report when defined technical devices are moved from a controlled area outside the intended times or processes. The event is initially a technical alert. Whether the movement is authorised will be checked by your responsible team.
Capture vehicles, people’s movements, stay times and defined directions at access points and delivery areas. This allows you to detect unusual processes and classify reported incidents more quickly.
Monitor defined escape routes, escape routes and stairwells on visible obstacles. If event technology, transport containers, deliveries or other items block a way, the responsible team will be informed.
Detect visible smoke, open flames and visible liquid leaks in buildings, studios and technical areas. The video analytics supplements your existing fire alarm and security systems with visual context. It does not replace any prescribed sensors.
Identify defined forced movements or visible effects on doors, facades, cameras and other protected areas. A detected event can be connected to existing burglar alarm or building systems.
After a documented incident, find relevant people, vehicles, objects and directions of motion faster in your video recordings. Their authorised security managers can specifically limit extensive video collections without having to review all recordings manually.
From image to reaction
An automatic detection only creates an operational benefit if the event is checked, sent to the correct position and processed in a traceable manner.
Your existing or new cameras provide images from the areas defined for the application.
The AI evaluates people, vehicles, objects, movements and visible states.
Their zone, time, duration, direction and quantity rules determine when a situation is relevant.
The event reaches your security service, your building management, your control centre or a connected operational system.
A person in charges checks the event and initiates your defined safety or emergency process if necessary.
Time, camera, event, testing and processing status remain traceable according to your defined purpose.
Operational integration
You can integrate detected events into your existing security, building and IT infrastructure. The technical connection depends on your system landscape, your security concept and your documented responsibilities.
Operational added value
The benefit comes from reliably detecting a clearly defined visual condition and connecting it with the right safety process.
Detect visible weapons, violence, falls and other emergency situations early.
Your control centre receives relevant events with time, camera location and visual context.
Recognise unusual access and movements in editorial offices, studios, archives and technical rooms.
Automatically report open or blocked doors and possible multiple passages.
Identify high densities and possible bottlenecks at entrances, event areas and public access.
Reduce continuous manual observation and focus your attention on relevant events.
Combining camera, access, building and alarm events in a defined process.
Find relevant video sequences faster based on time, camera, objects and directions of movement.
Use suitable existing cameras as additional visual sensors.
Privacy by Design and Grenzen
Editors and media companies process confidential information and protect journalistic sources, internal research and sensitive production processes. Therefore, you limit video analytics to specific safety and operating purposes.
Before operation, you determine which cameras and image areas are analysed, which events are relevant, who is allowed to access the data and when stored information is deleted. Editorial workstations, screens, documents and confidential conversation situations are not analysed in terms of content.
You can only evaluate situations, people, vehicles, objects and conditions that are sufficiently visible in the camera view.
The video analytics detects defined visible characteristics and movements. It does not detect any intentions and does not classify any person as dangerous.
You can only detect sufficiently visible weapons as a technical indication. Covered or very small items cannot be reliably evaluated.
A collection of people does not automatically pose a security risk. The analysis evaluates visible density, movements and blocked areas, not the political stance or the occasion of an assembly.
From a camera view alone, you cannot reliably deduce whether a person is entitled to access. To do this, you connect the camera event to your access data.
A detected object movement does not automatically show a theft or an unauthorised act. The situation will be examined by your responsible team.
The video analytics complements your fire detectors, access controls, intrusion detection systems and other security technology. It does not replace these systems.
A detected event is initially a technical alert. Verification, decision-making and measure remain assigned to your competent roles.
You check data protection, work, media and security requirements on a location basis and for the respective use case.
Privacy by Design
For locations in the EU form the GDPR, especially Art. 5, 6, 25 and 35 and the EDSA video surveillance guidelines the basis of the privacy audit. In addition, consider the law of the respective Member State, in particular employee data protection and co-determination. The duties from the EU AI Act check for the concrete use of AI.
