Weapons and Violence
Prioritise visible weapons and possible physical confrontations for prompt human review.
AI video analytics for hotels improves security in entrances, lobbies, event areas, parking areas and internal operating zones. It recognises defined events and passes them directly to your responsible teams or systems.
Initial position and goal
Your hotel combines public areas with guest rooms, event space and back-of-house areas. The AI video analytics for hotels recognises visible security risks early and passes relevant events directly to your responsible teams.
Prioritise visible weapons and possible physical confrontations for prompt human review.
Recognise falls, people on the ground as well as visible smoke or signs of fire early.
Monitor transitions between guest, event and protected operating areas.
Capture utilization, queues and directions of motion without identifying individual guests.
Solution approach – Testable scenarios
You determine which visible situation should be identified, when it is relevant and which action follows. We combine suitable camera images with individual zones, time rules, alarm paths and your responsible hotel teams.
The analysis detects openly visible firearms, knives or previously defined threatening objects in suitable camera areas. This is relevant to entrances, receptions, bars, event areas or in parking areas. It cannot determine authenticity or intention; trained personnel verifie any notification.
The video analytics can clearly detect visible physical confrontations, punches, kicks or other patterns of movement patterns previously defined. Reception, security service or control centre will receive the event for immediate examination. Verbal conflicts and intentions cannot be reliably assessed from the image.
If the system detects a crashed or motionless person over a specified period of time, a message can be triggered automatically. This will support you in lobbies, corridors, staircase areas, function rooms, car parks and secluded operating areas. A human review remains necessary.
Monitor transitions between public areas and protected employee, warehouse, technical or administration zones. In addition, project-specific trained, visible uniform or clothing features can serve as an indication of the hotel staff category. Personal eligibility will continue to be determined by your shared systems and employees.
The analysis recognises visible smoke or signs of fire by camera and passes them with visual context to your responsible teams. It complements your existing fire alarm and building technology; mandatory fire alarms, extinguishing systems and fire safety measures remain required.
Capture the number of people and recognizable consolidations in lobbies, bars, function rooms and entrance areas. Individual thresholds determine when your team is pointed to overcrowded areas, blocked additions or emerging queues. The evaluation can be carried out anonymously.
Suitcases, bags or other items that remain unattended over a defined period of time can be recognised in specified areas. The analysis supports lobbies, entrances, event spaces and luggage storage, but cannot determine owners or level of danger.
Detect if security, fire or access doors remain open for longer than intended or blocked by suitcases, bags, cleaning trolleys and other items. After exceeding a defined period, your responsible team will be informed.
Monitor defined escape, rescue and traffic routes on visible obstacles. If these are blocked by luggage, furniture, cleaning trolleys, deliveries or other items, the responsible team may be informed and the event documented.
Detect if the number of guests or a defined waiting zone exceeds a set threshold. Your team can open another reception space or forward guests more specifically. It is not necessary to identify the people waiting.
Analyse how guests move through entrances, lobbies, event spaces and other suitable areas. Anonymous counting and directions support pathway, signage, personnel planning and land use without personal profiling.
Clearly visible effects on doors, devices, machines or other defined objects can be recorded as an event. The analysis detects visible movements and changes in condition, but does not independently determine whether there is intentional damage.
At defined positions, it can be checked whether a visible item has been removed or significantly moved. This is suitable, for example, for fire extinguishers, shut-off elements, luggage trolleys and other defined operating objects. Your team will check whether the removal was entitled.
Identify people and vehicles in defined parking, driveway, delivery or way of transportation. Zones, directions of movement and dwell times show, for example, when a vehicle blocks an area or when a person enters a protected zone outside of the intended times.
In delivery zones, underground garages and technical outdoor areas, critical close approaches between people and vehicles can be identified. This makes it possible to check risky situations more quickly and identify particularly affected areas based on documented events.
In technical, storage, kitchen and logistics areas, it can be checked whether visible protection specifications are met. This includes defined hazard zones, safety distances or visibly prescribed protective clothing. The implementation is adapted to the area, activity and data protection.
Limit video archives after an event based on period, camera, object type, personal features or direction of movement. This allows you to find relevant material faster and can reconstruct processes more specifically before, during and after an incident.
From camera view to security process
Automatic recognition only creates use when your responsible role checks the event, transfers it to the right place and works it on a comprehensible manner.
Existing or new cameras capture the areas defined for the respective application.
The AI evaluates the required visual features, objects, movements or actions.
Zones, time slots, dwell times and other rules determine when a situation becomes relevant.
The event reaches the reception, security service, control centre, operation team or a connected system.
Your designated team examines the situation and starts the defined intervention or escalation path.
Time, camera location, visual evidence and processing status can be documented in a comprehensible manner.
Integration into your hotel infrastructure
Via controlled interfaces, you can connect relevant video events to your existing security, operations and management systems. Automatic door releases, evacuation decisions or external alerts are only carried out in expressly defined and approved processes.
Your concrete added value
The benefit comes from clearly defined visible events, appropriate verification and direct handover to your responsible hotel processes.
Prioritise openly visible weapons for a quick human review.
Deploy possible physical arguments directly to your safety team.
Recognise falls and unusually long soil positions in suitable areas.
Monitor transitions to storage, engineering, administrative and employee zones.
Visibly report open, open or blocked security and access doors.
Deliver visible smoke and fire with camera context for position testing.
Indicate on left-behind cases and bags in defined zones.
Identify visible obstacles on fleeing, rescue and traffic routes.
React early to high utilization, compaction and blocked access.
Use anonymous counts and directions of movement for planning and route.
Inform teams before defined waiting areas or thresholds are exceeded.
Capture time, camera location, visual evidence and editing status structured.
Limits relevant video footage by time, camera, object and movement.
Focus on reception, security service and operating personnel to relevant events.
Operate rules, roles and alarm paths across locations for several houses.
Use suitable existing cameras and only supplement where it is needed.
Privacy by Design and Grenzen
The solution analyses only the areas and visible features required for the defined purpose. Guest rooms, bathrooms, toilets and similar private areas are excluded from video analytics.
The solution is designed to protect guests, employees and operational areas. It is not intended for permanent performance or behavioural control of your employees.
Only people, objects, movements and situations that are sufficiently visible in the camera view can be evaluated. Perspective, light, distance, covering and crowd density influence the recognition.
The analysis cannot determine whether a person is actually dangerous or what intention it pursues. It provides visible events for human verification.
Covered weapons or objects remain invisible to ordinary cameras. The authenticity of a detected object must also be assessed by humans.
Fast movements, playful behaviour or dense crowds can be similar to a confrontation. Each report requires a visual inspection.
Not every fall is reliably detected from every perspective. The solution does not supplement and replaces your company emergency organisation.
Visible smoke and fire can provide an alarm note. Invisible gases, heat or fires outside the camera area require suitable sensor technology.
Project-specific, visible uniform or clothing features can be recognised as an indication of the hotel staff category. However, this does not identify any individual and does not constitute his name or concrete access eligibility.
Privacy by Design
For locations in the EU form the GDPR, especially Art. 5, 6, 25 and 35 and the EDSA video surveillance guidelines the basis of the privacy audit. In addition, consider the law of the respective Member State, in particular employee data protection and co-determination. The duties from the EU AI Act check for the concrete use of AI.
