Zone definition and configuration
Vaidio offers flexible geofencing features: For each camera, detection zones (ROI) can be drawn with a mouse click, typically as a polygon or line in the image. Within these zones, the system detects break-ins. Additionally, exclusion zones can be marked (e.g., busts, windows) where movements are deliberately ignored.
AI-supported object recognition and semantic analysis
Vaidio uses deep learning to recognize people, vehicles, animals, and over hundreds of other object types in real-time. Unlike simple pixel motion detection, the AI recognizes what is moving – for example, it distinguishes between humans, animals, or cars. The system works semantically: It can recognize attributes and contexts, such as “person without a backpack” or specific vehicle colors. For example, an alarm rule can be created that only triggers when a person without a school bag enters a zone.
Behavior analysis and alarm criteria
In addition to pure object recognition, Vaidio evaluates behavior. You can define schedules so that events are only considered alarms outside of allowed time windows (e.g., night lock). All alarms can be scheduled (24/7 or custom shift times). Scenarios such as multiple entries and exits of an object can be recognized as suspicious patterns (for example, through counting functions or special alarm rules). Overall, detailed conditions can be specified for each alarm rule (including multiple objects, combinations, or time intervals) to report only relevant events.
Alarm reaction time and contents
The AI analyses run in real-time: Vaidio typically alerts within 2 seconds of detecting a critical event. Each alarm contains metadata such as detection time, camera location, object type (e.g., “Person in fence area”), and a video image snapshot or clip with drawn bounding boxes. The alarms can be issued through various channels (e.g., push notification, email, HTTP post) and are immediately visible to security operators. This allows security services or internal systems to be automatically informed in the event of boundary violations or unauthorized entry.
Authorized vs. unauthorized access
Vaidio supports identification mechanisms to distinguish between authorized and unauthorized persons and vehicles. Access schedules can define when which area is freely accessible. In addition, the integrated face recognition can be used: The system compares recognized faces with a list of allowed persons and only triggers an alarm for “unknown” or blocked persons. Similarly, license plate recognition (LPR) works: Vehicles are checked against a whitelist upon request, and only unknown license plates trigger alarms.
